Helson J. Meirino, LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who believes in working with individuals with a holistic, culturally competent, and systemic approach to therapy. Trained as a family therapist, Helson has experience working with individuals, couples, and families struggling with communication and relationship difficulties. He has also worked extensively with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, and managing their emotions. Helson particularly enjoys working with individuals who identify as a part of the LGBTQAIP+ community, men who are struggling in their relationships and/or are survivors of sexual abuse, and individuals who wish to incorporate a spiritual nature into their treatment.
As your therapist, Helson can help you with creating a balanced life by helping you to develop skills to manage difficult emotions such as anxiety, depression, and self-doubt; communicate your needs effectively; and help you to build confidence. He works with individuals experiencing relationship difficulties, self-esteem issues, challenging life transitions, and those struggling with body and sex positivity.
Helson earned his Master of Social Service from Bryn Mawr College, specializing in Family Therapy. He has been trained in Ecosystemic Structural Family Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and is currently pursuing trainings in trauma treatment relating to Men’s Sexual Abuse and Mindfulness.
